Welcome to waltonssongs.org, the online resource dedicated to British composer Sir William Walton’s solo songs.

We hope that you will enjoy the site, and that you will join the group of musicians and music lovers who are performing, promoting, and celebrating these superb solo songs worldwide.

This site is organised in four layers, each of which is designed to disseminate information about Walton’s songs, and to encourage your own local, national and international participation.

1: General Entry Pages. The main pages available via the home page top menu offer overviews of general topics associated with Sir William Walton, his songs and this online resource.

We especially recommend you begin with the walton’s songs page, which offers a concise introduction to William Walton’s solo songs.

2. Song Entry Pages. These contain general information about the songs and song cycles, and are grouped according to manner of publication (single song, group of songs, song cycles). Access these via the walton’s songs page or the home page image slider.

3: Song Media Pages. Each individual song has a media page containing its text, sample video clips, links to recordings and downloadable material. Access these via the songgallery, or by clicking on the song photo icon at the bottom of the Song Entry Pages.

4: Interactive Pages (under construction). In our interactive video blog, we invite you to add videos of your own performances of Walton’s songs, as well as programme notes, comments and any other information related to Walton’s songs you may like to share.

We look forward to hearing you sing, play, and discuss William Walton’s solo songs!
